Contribute to a project aimed at identifying the factors that improve the health outcomes for individuals who have sustained a compensable injury.

Monash University and the Institute for Safety, Compensation and Research Recovery (ISCRR) are calling for participants in health provider groups to assist in a survey investigating the impacts of compensable injury in Australia.

ISCRR is a joint initiative between WorkSafe Victoria, the Transport Accident Commission and Monash University. This three year project aims to examine the impacts of compensable injured within four domains including, the individual, community, workplace and societal domain. The end-goal of this project is to develop a standardised assessment of the individual, community, workplace and societal impacts of compensable injury.

"Through gaining an understanding of the impacts of injury and the impact of the compensation scheme within these domains, we can focus on accurately identifying those factors that improve the health outcomes for individuals who have sustained a compensable injury."

"In the first phase of this program of research, we are conducting interviews and focus groups with individuals influenced by compensable injury, including injured persons, family members, employers, unions and compensation employees. We are also organising a focus group meeting with health professionals who are influenced by compensable injury."

The aim of the focus group meeting is to gain insight into the factors that impact on the management of injured persons and the drivers of those impacts. Participants in the meeting will be asked a range of questions that relate to their experience and knowledge of the impacts of compensable injury within their role as a health provider professional.

The health provider focus group meeting has been scheduled for Monday 28th May between 10am and 12noon. The meeting will be held at the Monash Conference Centre, located at 30 Collins St, Melbourne.
